Waiting for a pre-teen to wake up in the morning so we could have our breakfast of bacon & eggs...and waiting...and waiting...and waiting...
When she finally emerged from her first ever night sleeping in a tent, she walked right into her first campstove cooking experience! After watching dinner last night, she was armed and ready to make her own breakfast. Fried eggs: a tribute to our amazing grandfather :)
But of course, as soon as breakfast was finished, the skies opened up and the rain began to fall. But we were prepared - what skier doesn't have kickass rain gear? Did I mention that Megan is not just my cousin, but a ski sister as well?
Words from another Killington ski bum: there is no ill weather, just ill dress. So we headed out, checking out every cove, nook & cranny that we could find :)
Armed with my camera, Megan was captivated by the local plants...
...and the thousands of tadpoles with budding legs at the launchsite. Thousands. I slipped and fell into the water and I could swear there was a tadpole in my shoe!!
What a great time canoe camping - thanks for coming!!
See you on the Mountain,
